John started playing bass in his school days and bass is the only instrument he ever
wanted to play. He much prefers the deep thud of finger style playing.
His music preferences range from soul, funk and R&B to jazz and blues - and John has
been in bands that pretty much cover this spectrum.
His favourite bass players include Donald ‘Duck’ Dunn, James Jamerson, Chuck Rainey,
Bob Babbitt, Bootsy Collins, Pino Palladino, Anthony Jackson, Jack Bruce and Francis
Rocco Prestia.
